Lightmoor Village Estate Management Committee UpdatePosted by Stewardship Team, 22nd February, 2021
Last year the Committee underwent a big change to give Lightmoor Village residents more control and influence.
It is a now a resident-led committee with a resident chair. After each quarterly meeting you’ll hear more about the discussions that have taken place and the decisions that were made.
If you are interested in a being part of this exciting Committee then you’ll soon have an opportunity. Next month, you’ll hear more about the elections that will be taking place where you can nominate yourself to be a resident representative.
At the Committee this month we talked about the gritting service. Homes England no longer pays for this and in December BVT took over the costs, ensuring that all main roads throughout each area of the Village were gritted. We’ll be asking for your thoughts as this is reviewed for next winter.
This year all of the Stewardship Services are being reviewed, to ensure that the Stewardship Charge is value for money and transparent for everyone.
The Committee also discussed the compacted sand and gravel paths in Holywell Meadow and Woodlands Park, and how the heavy rain and snow leaves them in need of repair. Investigations are being made into replacing them with resin paths as seen in Croppings Park and Stocking Park play areas. Quotes for the work will be discussed at the next meeting.
